Introduction
I have produced this website for my own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of others interested in birds and/or photography. I hope you find something of interest here.
When I bought my digital SLR and lens in May 2004, I assumed that good quality images would be easy to achieve. I never imagined how challenging photographing birds would be! However, although many of the hours spent wandering the countryside with my camera looking for likely subjects has been frustrating, especially in the early days, they have been very happy hours.
This website contains my favourite images. I'm not saying they are all technically without fault; far from it! But I hope that with time and experience my images will improve and perhaps many of the images I now find acceptable will eventually be replaced.
You should ideally have a broadband connection to view these images; otherwise things may be slow. Having Javascript enabled (the default setting with most browsers) will also speed up movement between galleries after the initial download.

I hope you enjoy the site. Please use the Contact me link to tell me what you think.
Site Information
Pictures are processed and uploaded as soon as possible after they are taken. Pictures taken in the last 30 days can be seen on the Latest Images page.
The Favourites page contains those pictures I am most pleased with. What makes a picture a favourite? It may be that it is technically good - sharp and well exposed. Alternatively, the circumstances in which a picture is taken may make a picture special; the behaviour of the bird, for example, or the work that went in to getting the picture. These are things that only I can really appreciate.
I have recently added a further page - Birds in Flight. This is a challenging area of bird photography, requiring a lot of practice and patience, but it can be very rewarding.
All my uploaded images can be found from the Image-Albums page, grouped by species.
Please comment on the website and / or images via the Contact me page. I would welcome any criticisms, ideas, etc. It would be great to hear from you.
